Wow! It's been a little while!

Well just to give you a short update...we are about a month away from leaving Charleston!?! I can't believe the time has now come! I am very excited and nervous all at the same time. We haven't even sold our home yet! UGH! That has been the biggest pain....hopefully someone wants a new Christmas gift or a New Year's resolution!

What been happening...

Chad--He is not an Aircraft Commander....so he's in charge! Whoa! It's a big change for him because he can no longer goof-off and let the AC deal with it. He's the AC and has to deal with it! On his first mission he did have to deal with a few dilemmas, but was able to get through it all with flying colors. Chad has also been flying a lot to get to the point he is now. He seems to be ready to take the ranks as an awesome AC at Travis AFB. Chad just celebrated his 29th birthday...where we went to Husk...a fabulous restaurant. Another one we could check off our dwindling list.

Me--I am not teaching now, instead I became a jeweler for Premier Designs! I've definitely had some ups and downs, but all in all it has been pretty good to me. I have also celebrated my 29th birthday where we had a FAB dinner at Charleston Place...OMG...that's all I have to say! We definitely enjoyed that dinner and all of it's 5-STAR perks!

I am sure I am missing many more details....obviously not very important at the moment...but I will try to stay better in the upcoming months because we will have LOTS of EXCITING news to share on our adventures in CALI!

6 years....and counting...

For our 6 year anniversary we decided to head south to Hilton Head Island. We have never been there and I've heard very good things about the area, so we wanted to try it out. I booked two nights at a bed and breakfast, Main Street Inn, that resembled some of the plantation homes in Charleston.

Dinner on Friday night at The Boathouse...reccommended by our b&b. It had a very fun atmosphere and really good drinks!! :)

The next day we ventured over to another part of the island to check out the marinas and what they had to offer.

I'm the WINNER!! I beat Chad by 2 strokes! This was the first time we have played minature golf in a VERY LONG time. We used to do this while we were dating in high school! So fun...brought back fun memories and little compretiveness.

VEGAS!

This last weekend I ventured across the US to visit Las Vegas with my family (well most of them--minus my brother--he's not 21). We enjoyed our time and created many more memories. I can't say that I became a millionare, but I won a little and lost a little more...

Whichever way you say/hear it we are moving on....mixed emotions, but definitely happy and excited for our future! Where you wonder???? That would be Fairfield, California. I have only been to visit in southern California, so it will definitely be a change LIVING there. Then considering how expensive things are...hmmm...I am not one to be inexpensive, so we will just see how this goes. :) We are super excited though and can't wait to move on. Chad will still be flying the C17, however Travis AFB has C5's and KC10's as well. I will keep you updated on our crosscountry adventure!

Happy 4th of July!

First of all, I want to say thanks to my husband and many more men and women for your bravely and willingness to serving our country and keep us all safe. Secondly, happy independence day! I was very lucky to be able to spend this 4th with my wonderful husband! We haven't shared this holiday in a while!

We decided to spend one last 4th of July downtown Charleston and enjoy a delicious meal as well. :)

One Night....One Masterpiece!

Yesterday I was able to enjoy some creative fun! I don't have much creativity in me, but it was fun to do something different for a change. With a bottle of wine and a blank slate, Bottle and Brushes was going to turn me into a painter for the night....later creating my wonderful masterpiece. I have done this before painting a Van Gogh-ish rainbow row, which is a row of colorfully painted homes downtown Charleston. So when I picked this painting I wanted to do something unique of Charleston again. I decided to paint the Arthur Ravenell bridge. This is the same bridge I ran my over during the Cooper River Bridge Run in April. In the beginning I was thinking that it was going to be challenging, but it was actually very simple. the instructor walks you through it all, so it makes it very do-able. We started the painting by figuring out where the bridge was going to be located and we marked that off. Then we started creating the sky...by simply making squiggly lines all over in different colors. The ocean was straight lines with the same colors. Next came the bridge, which is where I started to fail. For some reason I cannot paint straight lines...although it could of been the bottle of wine we downed! Such a bummer, because it started out really cute! I finished the bridge and moved on to the cables of the bridge. This is my least favorite part :(. But hey, I'm just an amateur! :) It was a great night and I am glad that I was able to share this memory with a few dear friends!

SURPRISE...Part 2!

Day 4: We had a jam-packed Wednesday starting off with an Ecological Tour on a speedboat. We were going to be out all day enjoying a variety of activities including hiking, caving, and snorkeling. We started off the tour with a few I have never been caving before, so it was pretty neat. We also got a chance to go on a hike where we saw lots of birds and lizards. At the ened of our tour we went snorkeling for a good 40 minutes or more. It was fun--although we didn't really see much. It was very cloudy, I'm guessing since it was being to be low tide. That night we enjoyed a returning guest dinner which was very delicious!

Day 5:We had a lazy day...plus it rained a little more than during the daytime. So we hung around pool and beach. I also beat Chad in some bocce ball. We bought painting that reminded us of our beautiful view from our room. We had dinner at the Japanese restaurant which was so delish!

Day 6: Today we relaxed around the beach and pool again...soaking in what we had left of it. We decided to go snorkeling with the resort which was included and was actually better than the tour snorkel. That night for dinner I had the most delicious lobster and have a picture to share.

Day 7: This was our last day.... :( It rained all morning, but we snuck in a few more pictures.
